The death has occurred of Diarmuid (Der) Hartnett

Kilbarry, Lissarda and Clomacow, Crookstown, Cork. (Former Principal of Kilmurry National School)

On October 5th 2021, unexpectedly but peacefully in the presence of his heartbroken family, in the excellent care of the staff of the A and E Department and the I.C.U unit of Cork University Hospital, Der, son of the late Teddy and Mae Hartnett and brother of the late Norma Mc Sweeney. Loving and beloved father of Tadhg and Grάinne.

Deeply and sadly missed by his son and daughter, their mother Anne and Grάinne’s partner, Jonny: his sisters, Mary Deasy (Macroom) and Anna O’Dowd (Aherla), brothers, Tim, Noel and Joe (Kildare), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Arrangements

Reposing at his residence Kilbarry, Lissadra P14RX97 from 2pm Thursday till 8pm,
Reposing Friday from 2pm till 8pm.
Der’s Funeral cortege will leave his residence at 11.30 am Saturday will travel via
Kilmurry / Crookstown on route for Cremation, family and close friends only.
Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to Marymount Hospice.
